Reach

2025

Copper leaf on glass, chemical corrosion with ammonia and vinegar

26 × 20 cm

Reach is a piece from Beneath my skin, cells under series

"Concealed by each scab, fresh cells wait to decay with the sun."

Reach sits between contact and distance, approaching the surface as a fragile threshold where touch remains absent but perceptible. Using copper leaf on glass and chemical corrosion, the work brings together exposure, oxidation, and time to hold a quiet tension between intimacy, wound, and transformation. The piece draws on the idea of haptic perception as a form of closeness that does not depend on physical contact, but unfolds through attention, sensation, and proximity. In this way, the work remains both delicate and unsettled, allowing change to stay visible on the surface.
