Clear acrylic perspex, found copper plates, vinegar, ammonium, plywood, room conditions, and environmental variables
133 x 56 x 14 cm
The work adopts the logic of specimen display. Copper plates, initially encountered as a bulk of found material, are gathered onto a single surface and reorganised within a new system. They are oxidised together through vinegar and ammonium fumes, then scratched, sanded, worn, and fumed again. In the final stage, individual fragments are selected from this larger system, isolated, and held between transparent planes, as though excised from a body and prepared for microscopic examination.
